2023 Rural Health Careers Camp

This is a three-day, overnight educational program for high school students interested in the healthcare field. Students will participate in hands-on learning activities and labs that represent different healthcare careers and stay at an overnight facility to experience living on a college campus. More information HERE

The 2023 camp will be in-person at the Bishop Lane Retreat Center, Located at, 7708 E McGregor Rd, Rockford, IL 61102

Monday, June 26 through Wednesday, June 28, 2023. (Check-in will be at 9:00 am on Monday and check-out is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Wednesday.)

Summer Scholars Health Care Exploration Camp

Participants will learn about all Doisy College of Health Sciences academic programs, which prepare students to become: athletic trainers, health information specialists, medical imaging specialists, medical laboratory scientists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physician assistants, radiation therapists, registered dietitians, speech-language pathologists and many other health care professions. In additional to educational activities, students will:

  • Participate in educational activities across various health sciences disciplines
  • Receive SLU gear
  • Be entered to win a free iPad

Pathways to Saluki Medicine

Pathways to Saluki Medicine is a medical-based summer camp hosted by the Physiology Department at SIU School of Medicine. It is a 5-day overnight camp for any high school students interested in the medical field or biomedical science. It is designed to expose students to medicine by interacting with professionals in different fields and learning more about biomedical sciences via hands-on activities.

Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP)

is sponsoring an Aerospace Career Education (ACE) Camp for 13-18 year old’s in STL. The cost for the 5-day camp Tuesday-Saturday on June 20-24th is $100. It will run all day, each day. Students will tour SWA, Scott AFB, visit Boeing, fly drones, fly airplanes and MORE. Registration is online. Search OBAP ACE and then look for STL. https://obap.org/ace/stlouis/
