Message from Illinois Wesleyan University - Bloomington, Illinois
My name is Cora Kennedy and I am the Director of Esports at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU). As we get into the school year, I wanted to reach out to all the schools with esports programs in Illinois to talk about what we do here at IWU Esports to see whether any of your students are interested in continuing to compete in varsity esports while seeking a high quality college education. Being a former high school math teacher myself I know how important it is for students to be connected at school and I want to continue this mission for them while in college.
We are one of the premier college esports programs in the nation with our own facility on campus with 50+ computers, coaches for all titles offered, scholarships for all recruited players, student work opportunities available, and an award-winning program culture and leadership. Additionally, IWU is one of the best schools in the nation with the #1 job placement rate in Illinois and #7 in the nation! We currently have scholarshipped teams in Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Valorant, Smash Bros. Ultimate, and NBA 2K and regularly make conference championships including our Overwatch 2 team placing #15 in the nation this past year!
You can keep up with our program @iwuesports on all platforms (Twitter is the primary social media for the esports space) as well as our university website for esports. ~ Coach Cora Kennedy
