Known Data Breaches:
We are writing to inform you of a recent cybersecurity incident involving Canvas, the learning management system used at OTHS.
Canvas (Instructure) notified its customers of a data breach affecting some user information. Data that may have been exposed includes names, institutional email addresses, student ID numbers, and private Canvas chat messages. Instructure has reported that the incident has been contained, and a forensic investigation is currently ongoing.

Please note that OTHS staff and students access Canvas using Single Sign‑On (SSO) through Microsoft accounts. These login credentials are not shared with Canvas; therefore, no action is required for staff or students.
Canvas remains available and fully operational for teaching and learning.
Parents and guardians who use Canvas observer accounts are encouraged to change their passwords, as these credentials are created and managed directly within Canvas. Instructions for resetting observer account passwords can be found here:
