Portrait of a Panther

Celebrating Character. Recognizing Growth. Elevating Every Student.
Portrait of a Panther is a student recognition program for students in grades 10–12 at the OTHS Smiley Campus. Building upon the character-building habits introduced during freshman year, the program celebrates students who demonstrate the qualities, skills, and characteristics we hope to see in every OTHS graduate.
Each month, OTHS departments have the opportunity to recognize students who are demonstrating or making meaningful progress toward these qualities. Recognition is not based solely on grades, awards, or accomplishments. Instead, it focuses on the whole student—including their character, growth, skills, effort, leadership, and contributions to our school community.
Up to four students may be selected by each department each month. Students recognized throughout the quarter will come together for a special celebration honoring their growth and contributions.
Building the Portrait of a Graduate
Our Portrait of a Graduate represents who we want our students to become by the time they leave OTHS. Portrait of a Panther recognizes and elevates students along the way.
Through this program, we celebrate not only where our students are, but also who they are becoming.
At OTHS, we believe every student has the ability to grow, contribute, and make a difference. Portrait of a Panther gives us an opportunity to recognize those moments and celebrate the Panthers who are helping make our school community stronger.
